OK, We had wanted to go to Dragons over the Smokies, and these pages were to show what happened there, but Diaana had a MANDATORY inventoy come up for that week. Dragons Cancelled! DAMN!

So, we decided that we were going to at least make the first leg of the journey and get back in time to count the JoAnn inventory.

We packed up the bike and headed to Shippensburg PA to have a ride with Rick and Deb, along with Shifter and Wingmama. Of course when we got there, we did not have to ask what was for dinner. Anyone that rides to Rick's knows that "Beef, it's what for dinner" applies!

They ask you to stay with the bikes, in case the boat hits bottom.

The water was fairly shallow today

You could walk across and not be up to your waist

Note the "door" to call the ferry over from the other side.

Time to go for dinner.

We started the second day, after our big steak dinner the night before, by hooking up with Shftr and Wingamam. I apologize for the lack of photos, but our batteries died. We were able to get some later, but the ferry ride was over.

The ferry is one of Shftr's favorite rides. It is a barge attatched to a double wheeled paddle boat, alongside. The river is shallow here, and it was hard to believe that this same river was flooding all over NY and northern PA just 6 weeks ago. Today, they asked us to stay with our bikes in case we bottomed out on the way across.

After reaching the other side, we headed south on a meandering path, to find the Amish Buffet, in "Beautiful Lancaster County". Shftr knows where to find groceries too!

If you come to dinner at Rick and Deb's, come hungry!
