Today, we are off to David's ride.
David's ride is an annual event, put on by his best friend Wall. David is
no longer with us. Wall (Paul) holds this ride, yearly, in loving remembrance of his friend.
The trip takes us to Augusta,
Maine.
We meet old friends and new. Some have come to honor David, and some have come to bring teddy bears to the
Maine State Ploice for use in comforting children in traumatic situations. Some come for both reasons.
Wall tells the
group of Dave, for those who never had the pleasure of meeting him, and then lays out the route and details of the ride. The
weather is near perfect, and the group is especially happy to ride together again, after many weekends of rain, in the summer
of '06.
So with 24 bikes and two automobiles, we ride...."David's ride."
