Sunday February 26, 2005 was the date for another New England VRCC winter get together.

MA. State Rep "Shorty", decided we needed to fight back the winter "blahs" with a get together for lunch, at the Hearth and Kettle in Weymouth MA. Shorty is frequently correct about these things, and it turned out that he was right again this time. It was about time that we all got together to ward off a little cabin fever!

Over thirty members came out in the cold, on a brisk Sunday, just to get together and discuss the upcoming season. There was talk of Americade, Sturgis, Inzane, Dragons over the Smokies and the PowWow.

Many old faces and a few new ones were present, to eat drink and be merry, in the New England VRCC tradition.

After the food was gone and a photo or two was snapped, the group headed outside to view the "Scootertrash" Scooter, picked up that morning from member "Hoy" and his wife "T". the scooter was on its's way to Alabama in a VRCC member relay.

To simplify things, I will start the day in chronological order, with the picking up of the scooter on the way down. Dianna and I headed over to Ken's at about 9:00 a.m. and after some slippery roads and slow moving plows, we arrived a lttle after 11:30

When we arrived there was , Shorty and Mary, Karen and Claire, Valkrocket, BillL, Dalai Lama and Trudy, Ringmaster, Tom 'the Mechanic", Ed, Steve and wife, (sorry, I'm still learning names), Dan L and Carol and well just a whole lot of people! Some who's names I will need to learn to remember I'm sure. But the point is, Shorty had a large turnout for this day, and it was nice to see all these old and new friends again, for everyone, I'm sure.

The food was great, and the company unmatched anywhere. The New England VRCC is undoubtedly the best regional group in the whole VRCC. (Prejudiced? yes! Wrong to be so? NO!)

After the talk wound down, and we decided not to kill an UNRULY WAITRESS FROM DORCHESTER!!( She tried to accuse us of being a Harley Group!!) we all headed out to the parking lot to give the rest of the VRCC a picture of us around the scooter. After a couple of shots were snapped, all but a few folks who remained to reload the scoot, disbanded for home and the warmth of thier cars.

The transfer was made to Dalai, and the rest of us headed for home too. A great day for all, and a safe trip home for everyone.

Thanks Shorty!

It was 4 degrees when we left Barre VT, but it warmed up to a balmy 8 degrees by the time we arrived in Plymouth, NH.

So with the scooter loaded and a quick goodbye given to Hoy and T, we headed south to Weymouth. Shorty had a large group lunch room reserved for the New England VRCC and we were now running a little late.

It seemed to be a bittersweet farewell to the scooter for T. She knew it was going to a worthy fellow that could really use it, but you could tell that she was going to miss it.
